A Lot of Thank You's and What's Next?

The Material Girls- Textiles On the Hill- Bridging Waters exhibition is over! I think we can say it was a success, there was  a  steady stream of visitors on both days.  Saturday a group of ladies travelled from Suffolk and stayed all day. Vanessa from Southend on Sea stayed all day on Saturday and enjoyed the demonstrations so much she came back and stayed for most of Sunday!   Apart from those interested in Textiles we had  visitors who dropped by to sit at tables outside in the sun and enjoy the home baked cakes. They wandered in and looked at the exhibition and shops too.

Visitors
Horndon were  hosting visitors from their French twin town and many of them came in for a look.  Not only  those of a certain age the young came to view too!  It was really special to have Donna and her husband  join us from Canada,  Donna is a member of Articulation! So this weekend the Bridging Waters exhibition  were well and truly internationally viewed.

We must thank our demonstrators  Helen Wilson, Sara Impey, Lynda Monk, Janette Bright, Juliet Bryson and The Material Girls own  Beverley, Chris and Margaret. We also thank Denise from Craft Arena for bringing her shop, without their support and generosity  the weekend would not have been as successful or entertaining! So thank you. We must also say thank you to Jane and Peter for their help in arranging the use of the screens, liaising with 'The Swan' and everything else they did. The Material Girls are lucky that we have the support of our families who always are there to help out with the climbing of ladders or carrying of heavy boxes etc. we really appreciate it.

May - Counting Down....

Yesterday was our monthly May meeting, at which we discussed everything possible to do with our next event.
Textiles on the Hill
26th/27th May
Horndon on the Hill
This is a new venture for The Material Girls and we have all worked very hard to make sure we have something to offer anyone interested in textile art.  Btw, if you have been contacted by a Member of the Group regarding specific requests, now is the time to put those into action.

We have a new Honorary Member, Splodge - tasks allocated to him include entertaining us all, and very importantly acting as a paperweight whilst Margaret and Jill listened intently.
We hope to see as many of you as possible at the event, to make it a success - full information is here on the blog and on our website.
