Bridging Waters - Part III Canada

Last week saw the opening of the third exhibition of the Bridging Waters exhibition. And we all thought that in January the Material Girls work would be crossing the Atlantic on it's way back to the UK, but NO! It seems that our work will be staying in Canada a bit longer, more details to follow!

The Material Girls have a new member, Viv Mitchell! Viv isn't a stranger to the group,  she is a very talented textile artist and will fit very well into the group.

These little people are a present to the group made by Viv!

Looking Forward to 2015

The Material Girls are working on and finishing  exhibits for their exhibition at Textiles in Focus at Cottenham in February. At the last meeting Beverley showed the rest of the group the research she'd been doing for this project, sorry can't tell you anymore you'll have to come along!!!!!

We are also  talking about our next exhibition in 2015, it's in it's early stages  watch this space for more information............

A Retrospective!

Last weekend the Material Girls had a small exhibition of  work at the Embroiderers Guild Regional Day. It was another chance to see work from previous exhibitions and work we had in the Romford Art trail 2012.

If you are a regular reader of this blog you would have realised by now that The Material Girls have joined forces with a Canadian textile group Articulation (Articulated Materials). Last year the combined works 'Bridging Waters' were exhibited in three venues, galleries in the UK and are now exhibiting in galleries across Canada.
